Minelab Vanquish 540

The Vanquish range are Minelab's mid-level detectors, offering excellent results with simple and easy to use functionality. While they may lack many of the features and customisation options of more expensive detectors, they use the same technology that powers the more expensive Equinox range and offer great performance in most conditions.

Vanquish 540 Review

Introducing the Minelab Vanquish 540 – the top of the line model in the Vanquish series. With its advanced simultaneous multi-frequency (Multi-IQ) technology, this detector excels in all terrain and conditions, making it the perfect choice for both beach and land hunting. The Multi-IQ technology eliminates the need to switch coils or continuously adjust settings, giving you more time to focus on your search. The 540 also comes with a larger coil and rechargeable batteries as standard, and has slightly more customization options than other models in the range.

Minelab’s Multi-IQ technology is considered one of the best in the market, and the brand was the first to introduce it. Other brands are now trying to catch up. This detector is ideal for beginners, but compared to other entry-level detectors, it does a great job of discriminating out iron and can reach greater depths of targets. It has a solid build quality, comfortable design and is better suited for shallow water and beach hunting than other detectors with similar prices. However, keep in mind that the control box is not waterproof, so it can only be used in shallow water.

If you’re looking to test the waters in the hobby of metal detecting, the Minelab Vanquish 540 is a great place to start. However, if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, the 440 model offers similar performance at a lower price. If your budget allows, the Equinox 600 is a great step up in performance. If you’re mainly detecting on land, the Nokta Simplex is also worth considering.
